Training
Build the Capacity to Do the Work
Pivot's training curriculum equips organizations and individuals to become data-driven and strategy-ready, not just for the duration of a consulting engagement, but as a permanent internal capability. From focused skill-building workshops to full certification programs, every course is built on the same methodology that drives Pivot's client work.
OUR TRAINING PHILOSOPHYWe don’t train people to follow a process.
We train people to think.
The most common failure in professional training is teaching people what to do without teaching them why it works. Pivot's curriculum is built differently — every course connects skill development to the underlying systems thinking that makes those skills durable and transferable across roles, sectors, and contexts.
Whether you're a community health worker learning to identify root causes, a nonprofit leader building data capacity, or an institutional team developing a community investment strategy, the goal is the same: to leave the engagement more capable than you entered it.“Traditional training treats people like butts-in-seats to follow a checklist to generate revenue. We teach people to think like systems designers. The difference shows up in outcomes.”
HOW WE DELIVER TRAININGThree formats.
One standard of rigor.
WORKSHOPSSkill Building
Up to 3 hours · Focused & practical
Short, targeted sessions designed for teams or individuals who need specific insights or hands-on practice without a major time commitment. Ideal for introducing concepts or building a single skill area.
Every format delivers the same depth of content — the difference is time commitment, pacing, and the level of accountability and credential that comes with it.
CERTIFICATIONSCredentialed Applied Mastery
Structured learning · Pivot-Certified credential
Structured programs tied to assessments, projects, and applied work — resulting in a Pivot Certified credential that provides documented, verifiable proof of skill for employers and funders.
TRANSFORMATIONAL LEARNINGComprehensive Mastery
Extended engagement · Full integration
In-depth programs that go beyond surface-level skills. Participants master complex topics and integrate them into practice, producing the kind of capability shift that changes how an organization operates.
Every course offered through Pivot's training platform maps to one or more of these four foundational topic areas, ensuring that individual skill development connects to organizational strategy and community impact.
THE CHALLENGEFour curriculum pillars.

02Strategic Leadership and Design
Align organizational structure and goals with mission and values. Leadership approaches, goal setting, and strategy design for long-term effectiveness.
04Pilot Implementation
Put strategy into practice through guided pilot programs. Test and refine in real-world settings, building confidence and momentum for full-scale deployment.
FEATURED CERTIFICATIONNow Enrolling
Pivot's Community Health Worker Root Cause Certification is the first course available through the training platform — and the most direct application of Pivot's methodology to professional workforce development.
Community Systems Navigator -
Root Cause Certification.
Learn to think like a systems designer — not a referral machine.
Pivot's Community Systems Navigator (CSN) is a trained community-based professional - like a Community Health Worker - who uses household and community-level data intelligence to identify root causes of health and social instability, connect individuals to targeted interventions, and feed real-time findings back into a community outcomes system. Root Cause Certification trains CSNs to use Pivot's geospatial data platform to identify the systemic root causes of client challenges before the first meeting, integrate that intelligence with client narrative and lived experience, and design coordinated interventions that actually remove barriers rather than route around them.
The 40-hour curriculum covers six modules: systems thinking and root cause methodology, hands-on platform navigation and data interpretation, trauma-informed client listening and narrative integration, root cause-aligned intervention design, impact measurement and continuous improvement, and professional ethics and practice. The program concludes with a capstone portfolio — three anonymized case studies, a community service gap analysis, and a professional development plan — demonstrating applied competency across every module.
Graduates earn the Pivot-Certified CSN credential, 12 months of platform access, and entry into a coordinated network of practice.
